Beadwork

Growing up in a Native American family in Montana I was taught the art of Native American beadwork by my Grandmother and Grandfather, Alice and Ernie Moran.  Art is and was a very important part of my life.  I was influenced by my Grandparents as well as my Aunt Connie Coulson.  My aunt would paint, sculpted, make jewelry, bake and find many ways to express herself.

Below are examples of beadwork that I have completed.

Beaded Medallion

The graphic above I showcase a beaded medallion.  The (buffalo) that makes up the center of the medallion was beaded by my grand mother Alice Moran.  She beaded the buffalo itself and years after she passed away a woman gave it to me.  My grandmother had given it to this person to finish but she never did.  So I took the buffalo portion and made it into what it is now.  I have worn it several times and proud to keep a bit of my grandmother with me.

Beaded necklace and earrings

In the graphic above I showcase a beaded neckless and earrings in gold, yellow, red, blue and black.  The necklace is a woven pattern that when worn on the neck flares our from shoulder to shoulder.  The earrings are larger with a triangle design at the top with fringe at the bottom.  I have been beading earrings and jewelry since I was a small kid.
