Mastering Media for the Flipped Classroom

Well I’m towards the end of my second quarter at WOU in the Masters of Ed/Info Tech program.  Things are going great so far.  I’m struggling getting back into the groove of school and work but I’m sure it will get better.  One of the classes I’m taking is on how to build online courses.  So as part of the class I’m building a course on “Mastering Media for the Flipped Classroom”.  I’m a big fan of flipped content.  This gives a professor the option to free up some class time for application of the content.  For some “hard to remember” content videos and other media provide a great study tool for the student.

A couple of the items I’ve created for the course are:

This course is a mac only course at the moment because of the lack of time for the class.  I have solutions for the PC as well.  I’m using a Plantronics C620 headset for the audio, which has worked out great so far.

For the video tutorials I record them at 1280×720 and keep my screen resolution of my laptop at the native resolution.  There is nothing worse than a tutorial that you can’t see the text on. Make sure to choose the HD version when viewing for the best results.

This has been a fun project and will update things on my blog as I go.  I will probably post the links and resources to my site later.
